The fight between hackers and manufacturers has been existing for a long time. Compared with Xbox 360 and Wii, the notoriously difficult job – PS3 jaibreak has little development since its launched date.

However, everything has been changed recently. PS3 hacking has made a big step forward. Let’s have a short review.

1. Difficult Exploration in the Early StagePS3 has been launched in 2006. Many hackers, including Dark Alex who has made a great contribution, have ever tried to hack PS3, but failed at the end.

2. PS Jailbreak Dongle LaunchedIt can be called the most successful PS3 hacking which only need a USB drive named as PS Jailbreak. Different from previous hacking, which were only to mod PS3 host system and remove the limitation of the third party, PS Jailbreak dongle is based on Sony inner leaked code to bypass its detective system. PS Jailbreak allows gamers to load games directly onto the HDD for backup and Playback. However, the hacking organization makes the PS Jailbreak as a commercial product, which goes against the hackers’ shared spirit.

3. PS Jailbreak ClonedThis product became very hot since launched. Many cloned products were emerging also. The hack organization-PSX-SCENE reminded gamers to be careful with the clone products from China in their official website and announced that only the original PS Jailbreak can get the warranty and technology support.

4. PS Jailbreak Banned by SonySony sued three Australia distributors for selling PS Jailbreak dongle. The hearing was held in Aug 31, and then postponed to Sep 3. Sony finally won the injunction against PS Jailbreak. Later, Sony also sued American sellers of PS Jailbreak. Sony is seeking damages and an injunctive relief, which would block the sale of the devices.

5. PSGroove Open Source ReleasedAt the same time, Mathieulh and his team have successfully cloned the PS Jailbreak code. PSGroove as an open source Jailbreak has been released. And then PSGroove is available to ported and work in mobile devices like PSP or Android Smartphone named as PSFreedom. This free way to hack PS3 without USB becomes popular instantly.

6. PS3 Firmware 3.42 UpdateSony released a PS3 firmware 3.42 to remove the ability of PS Jailbreak in Sep 6. To top it off, it’s a mandatory update. Once gamers access to PSN or log in the Sony account, their PS3 get updated. Therefore, gamers only have two choices: to wait for the PS hacking update or update the firmware.

A new challenge appears in front of hackers. The cat and mouse game begins again.

PlayStation 3 Hacked to Play Copied Games

Everyone has been so excited about the new PS3 mod chips PS3 Jailbreak and PS3Key. After more than three years of its existence, someone finally figured out how to Jailbreak the PS3! This is great news to many regular-joe-gamers since a PS3 game costs more than and a pirated game is virtually free and can be downloaded.

Although PS3 Chips are still in their early stages of development and they are not completely bug free, many PS3 users have already bought or are planning to purchase the current versions out in the market. But because like any other invention that reinforces piracy, one should be aware of the regulations and possible laws and repercussions of purchasing and using a PS3 USB Mod Chip.

What does SONY have to say?

Of course the games company is vehemently against the PS3 Chips because their game sales would definitely drop once people start playing pirated games. As a solution, they are currently developing an update to PlayStation 3 firmware. This would mean that the version of mod chip you’ve purchased or is using could stop working once the updated firmware comes out. (The chip makers have responded by releasing PS3 Chips with kernel update option)

Sony is also finding a way to detect if the gamer is using the PS3 chip, hence banning them from accessing the PlayStation Network. As of the moment, there is still no confirmation regarding this matter, perhaps because SONY haven’t really figured out how to do this.

So why doesn’t SONY sue the mod chip manufacturers?

The same reason why manufacturers of the Nintendo R4 DS Cards and other manufacturers of jailbreak chips and hard drives are making lots of money-developers won’t be able to stand up to pirates in court and there aren’t enough strong copyright laws to battle against the latter. Essentially, it isn’t illegal to be able to break a game console’s firmware, only copying the game is illegal. And even if you are caught with a fake copy you can simply say that you have lost the original.

Hence, good news for the pro pirate community.

About PS3 Jailbreak and PS3Key – PS3 Chips

The PS3 Jailbreak and PS3Key and PS3Key has a very easy concept. It is uses a plug and play technology, allowing you to install it in seconds without really breaking a sweat. Moreover, it does not void the warranty and can be used for all FAT and SLIM models distributed in various countries including: JAP, USA, KOREA, and PAL.

PS3 USB Mod Chip can disable forced software updates so it will not brick the console. Likewise, it supports all PS3 games although note that you can’t perform backups for DVD and Blu-Ray movies. What you can do is store all games in the internal hard drive or you can also opt to save it in external drives such as flash drives. With very fast speed, known to be twice faster than Blu-Ray, you won’t have to worry about lags and such. You can even load homebrew applications and games in it.

A word of Warning:

Before you go ahead and get one for yourself, you should know that the PSJailbreak will work for consoles with a firmware version of 3.41. Moreover, you should keep in mind that there is a very high probability that Sony will release a firmware update in order to block this device due to the implications it brings. If you plan to update your system’s firmware sometime in the future, you might want to avoid purchasing this item because it will only be a waste of money. Lastly, if you want to use the Playstation store or play online, it would be best not to get this item as well.

It has been a mere two months mainly because PS3 was cracked initially within your four-year usage time for this gaming console. Subsequently, Sony has quite effectively turn off the PSJailbreak and the subsequent related hacks using both legal and technical measures.Just what means will hackers try next at the quest to again mod the PS3 for backup gaming and homebrew app capabilities?

Rumors have begun surfacing at Dukio.com which your team of developers for ones PSJailbreak has obtained access, possibly with a former Sony employee, within the new decryption keys implemented on the latest PS3 firmware upgrades. If true, this will likely unlock new possibilities of the Ps3 Hack scene and will be new challenge for Sony to seal down.In keeping with PSJailbreak, these are undaunted by Sony’s smackdowns and provide new tricks up their sleeve that they’ll be unveiling to customers soon. “We will officially be releasing our support for new firmwares by October 20th, and Backup Manager v1.1 two or three after. It has all the features that clone makers were providing, in addition to result-oriented ones designed to blow everyone away.”But in accordance with some, the Ps3 Hacks hasn’t truly been hacked yet.”In order to essentially hack the PS3 such as the PSP, hackers must live through the Hypervisor, that may be the lowest level of security over the hardware,” Says Mike Ferro of Gamer.Blorge. “Believe it or dead the Hypervisor security layer works on the PPE (core processor) and uses one the reserved SPE (SPU). This SPE is isolated in ways with the intention that even an main core PPE can’t even access it.”"The single SPE uses the hardware root benefit of decrypt the encryption code while being linked with a random ID generator. This is probably about the most complex security systems ever invented utilizing one of the several Cell SPUs to look at decryption in isolation mode.”A strategy to undermine the Hypervisor security layer was underway by young hacker George Hotz, AKA GeoHot, but Hotz “retired” out of the hacking scene in July before breaking in the protected memory for the system.Despite Hotz’s exit from the scene, you will likely several others to choose from currently trying to break through the complex hardware-level security of one’s PS3 and it’s only some sort of time before someone figures against each other. For now, we’ll be watching to find what Ps3 Hacked and company has up for grabs in a few days.

Furthermore, here’s some news of psjailbreak, but near this topic.

The Chronic Dev Team decided to modify greenpois0n to work with geohot’s exploit, preserving SHAtter if Apple patches the geohot exploit on future devices.

Both greenpois0n and limera1n currently be employed on the subsequent devices: iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, fourth- and third-gen iPod touches, and iPads. Limera1n reportedly works for the iOS-based Apple TV, but all this time can’t be used to do what’s necessary useful. Support to your Apple TV and 2nd-gen ipod touch is promised for your future version of greenpois0n.

Remember, if you have in mind jailbreaking your device, you should definitely understand those caveats before jumping in-issues with certain versions of firmware or baseband software bring about a costly, if pretty, brick.

People just cannot get enough of iPhone. There are already so many amazing diy or application made for this phone and it just keep coming. You can find some in my blog if wish to read more or you can just Google for diy iphone or hack iphone there are so many hack and diy for this phone. Today i have found an even amazing diy for this phone. This guy actually went to attach a dslr lens on his iPhone. And i think he has name it as The Phone-O-Scope. Let see how he actually do it.

iPhone diy dslr lens

This is how the final build will look like. In the picture is a 18-55mm lens attach to the iPhone.

DIY iPhone dslr lens 1

He do it by first removing the iPhone back casing. Then you need to get a spoil or not in use anymore CD player so that you can use the lenses inside for your iPhone. This is to magnify the iPhone lens aperture so as to minimize the vignette that is cause by the dslr lens. After that he wrapped a thin layer of putty around the edges of the stacked lenses to stick thin strips of paper around the edges of the lenses. This is done so that they can be assembled together and handled as a single unit

He made use of old end lens cap, and two pieces of two-inch PVC pipe connectors to make the lens adapter to hold the dslr lens. It was important that the connectors could be connected via a screw thread – this way we can move the whole SLR lens back and forth for secondary focusing.

DIY iPhone dslr lens 3

Finally he tape the lens onto the lens adapter using duct tape. Take your time to tape it. As it involve a lot of small nice trim duct tape in order to be ale to stick them together properly.
