The first ever FA Cup live on Facebook. Ascot United vs Wembley FC will be the first game ever to be broadcast live on the social networking site.

Friday night, with the game being streamed to a potential audience of 700 million people.

The match will be the first FA Cup game ever to be broadcast live on Facebook.

A 90-minute stream will be provided by Budweiser, the competition’s new sponsors.

“As a long-standing supporter of football globally, Budweiser is committed to brining the world’s most prestigious knockout competition closer to the fans,” said marketing director Ian Newell.

This is the first time a FA Cup tournament fixture has been broadcast live on the social network, which is great news for football fans and clubs alike.”

The preliminary FA Cup qualifier kicks off at 7.45pm on Friday 19th August at Ascot United’s 1,150-capacity racecourse ground with the live streaming coverage starting at 7.30pm through the Budweiser UK Facebook page.

Mike Harrison, Chairman of Ascot United, said: “To be involved in the first game of The FA Cup this season is an honor in itself, but to be part of a world first and have our match broadcast to a massive global audience is fantastic for our club.”

This little bird, beside just looking cute, it also a big help. The bird, called the Companion Bird goes on top of railings and helps the elderly or less mobile people to climb the stairs. It was designed by Kim Bo-kyung & Baek Eun-ha.

I’m not really sure how helpful the bird would be but I think it might be useful for people who have a hard time gripping things (perhaps due to arthritis). The bird would enable people to climb the stairs without having to readjust their grip- they could grip the bird once and slide it along with them all the way up the stairs. Plus it adds a pop of color and visual interesting to the handrail. Good idea.

We all have been waiting for someone to hack the PS3, the wait maybe over. A USB modchip for the PS3 has emerged and is design just like a USB flash drive. Which mean we can just plug and play without the need to open up our PS3 that may void the warranty. These mod chip will allow playing of games from nearby storage. Moreover these modchip is compatible with all production models FAT and SLIM. Supports all regions: USA, JAP, PAL and KOREA. Some news release by the manufacturer is that FAT32 is currently supported and they are working on NTFS. They also recommend staying on current firmware and not updating until they have deemed it safe. The dongle is fully updatable. As for Online play does work but they cannot guarantee that it will work with all future titles.

We’ve all had that moment when we’ve been punching number after number into the calculator, that we all wish we could just curl up with it and go to sleep. Well, you’ve at least gotten so bored that you wished all of those buttons didn’t leave a weird pattern on your forehead when you pass out on it. Luckily someone has created a solar calculator for such situations. Sure, 9” by 9” isn’t the most portable thing in the world, but it’s so soft and squishy. You can purchase the green and white calculator for $19.99.

Japanese inventors have just come out with a new way to help pet owner to save money. Normally sending your pets to be washed by groomers will cost you around $30 but leaving your pet in this washing machine will cost you only $5. A lot of Japanese have begin to use this washing machine located at Tokyo to wash, rinse and blow dries their pets. The whole process take up about 30 minute. However it may take sometime before your pet is use to it. It maybe even better if one can install this at home, save the trip of going to the pet shop each time you want to wash your pet.

Microsoft has generated some big buzz with the revelation of Project Natal, a new camera-based system that requires no controller, just the movement of your body to function. And Sony officially announced PlayStation Move, a controller setup that utilizes a camera and a remote-like controller to interact with the screen.

I kind of prefer the project natal, i think it going be a must for home entertainment. I like the way the user interact with the console such as using voice to select movie and answering the question. But by using our whole body movement to play game (Action game) may tired our body fast. If not careful enough while playing fighting game can get one injure. So i think it may not be possible to play game like Halo or Battlefield unless you train yourself like SOF. As for PlayStation Move, since it only a short video so not much detail was provided. But seem to resemble Nintendo Wii.

Playstation Move:

This is a new type of memory card release by Trek and is made in Singapore. The product will allow photographer to transfer their images and video wirelessly. Once the Flucard is inserted into the device (camera or video camera), the user will gain access to its built-in software to look for a wireless network or another flucard in the vicinity. If another devices that is equipped with flucard is detected, establish a connection between them and they will be ready to transfer video or images between them. Flucard is also able to directly upload pictures or video to Trek website, where they can be downloaded.

This product seem to bear some similarity to the US-made Eye-Fi but the spokesman of Trek contends that through that their product is different especially since the card software can be updated to allow it to perform other functions over time. Trek also announced that Flucard will go on sale in Singapre within the next couple of months.
