WFTCloud.com Announces a New Service for Customers to Run SAP Applications on Managed Private Cloud

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) February 29, 2012

WFTCloud SAP Certified Cloud Services Partner has announced a new service to enable SAP customers to migrate to lower-cost, Managed Private Cloud Infrastructure.

IT leaders major concern for years is to maintain their IT infrastructure and reduce operation costs when it accounts for 60 per cent of total IT spend. Since things are still uncertain despite the economy showing some signs of improvement, this area of IT “strikes a resonant cord,” says Gartner Inc.

CIO’s today are certainly facing tough economic situations and constantly thriving hard working on IT cost reduction strategies says Ganesh Radhakrishnan, CEO WFTCloud, but economies doesnt seem to be getting any better. CIO’s are finding themselves at the end of their technological rope he said. Delayed buying decision, have left them with geriatric server, storage and networking infrastructure.

WFTCloud has developed a Private Cloud Solution specifically for SAP that aims to meet those needs. Created collaboratively with SAP and leading vendors in this field, this private cloud solution for SAP can dramatically shorten the time to provision new SAP landscapes from days to hours. Whats more, because it is run in the cloud, the solution can reduce costs while improving scalability, flexibility and recovery of systems.

The service is intended to enhance the performance of systems running SAP applications, improve flexibility, lower costs and use newer SAP technologies, including analytics and mobility. WFT said migrations could be delivered in less than four months at a fixed price.

Cloud computing will help CIO’s to reduce TCO and also scale, provision SAP servers in minutes eliminating IT complexities says Ganesh Radhakrishnan, CEO Wharfedale Technologies (WFTCloud). “Our joint initiative with SAP on Cloud will take us to next level with this strategic Private Cloud Solution, he said.

The SAP Private Cloud infrastructure of WFT is based on vBlock infrastructure (a joint initiative of Cisco, EMC & VMware). WFTs deep expertise and understanding of vBlock and the SAP application results in design of an optimal landscape in cloud that not only meets the current business requirements but also makes it much easier to expand resources in future.help architect SAP to run on Private Cloud. WFT executed more than 10+ implementations of vBlock SAP Private cloud in the industry.

“With vBlock vCloud, clients can move SAP applications from large, expensive servers to a smaller, highly efficient virtualized system powered by intel microprocessors in a x86 environment.” said Mahesh Reddy, CTO of WFT.

“The vBlock platform from VCE is a great example of achieving higher performance for SAP at a lower cost,” he said.

Some businesses are uncomfortable moving business-critical SAP systems off-premise to the public cloud, but private cloud systems offer the same efficiency and performance benefits, said Rajeev Menon, Vice President WFTCloud, while providing a level of data security and integrity found with on-premise legacy technologies.

In the case of WFT private cloud solution, WFT will manage the applications and infrastructure being delivered to the client.

The implementation of this infrastructure transformation solution requires a unique combination of skills, experience and capabilities. The intention of this solution is to help customers maximize the performance, scalability and provision SAP systems on-demand. Being a Certified Cloud Services Partner for SAP, WFTCloud also works very closely with SAPLabs for Cloud solutions.

WFT has successfully deployed these solutions to customers who are early adopters of SAP vBlock infrastructure, which resulted in improved performance, reduced costs and expanded SAP technology footprint in cloud.

signagelive Teams with Rackspace To Power Digital Media Delivery Products

London and San Antonio (PRWEB) February 28, 2012

signagelive, a global leader in cloud-powered digital signage solutions, today announced it has moved its media-delivery infrastructure to the Rackspace Cloud.

From advertising promotions used at Londons Harrods and on the Glasgow Metro system, to ads and digital menu boards in the takeaway food areas of the St Louis Rams American football stadium; signagelive is leading the way in terms of digital media innovation, said Taylor Rhodes, Managing Director Rackspace International. We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative company who trusts us to run their mission critical IT.

After a six-month global vetting process, we are thrilled with our move to a hosted managed solution provided by Rackspace, said signagelive CEO, Jason Cremins. Digital signage has long been held back by high IT infrastructure costs and closed, proprietary systems. Moving to a truly cloud-powered system is a first for our industry and this has the potential to truly unlock volume markets and new value chains for us. You cannot scale with software installed on a desktop computer in your closet, but you can with a system that boasts over 70,000 servers across eight data centers.

signagelive sees Rackspace as more than just a place to park their data or outsource computing power to, added Rhodes. The company has embraced the OpenStack tools we provide, created their own applications and optimized on top of our infrastructure. This kind of innovative approach is something we aim to nurture in partnership with our customers, added Rhodes.

Speed Through Services

By utilizing Rackspace’s integration of its CloudFiles product with Akamai’s Content Delivery Network (CDN), signagelive is able to deliver static files much faster and more efficiently to its users and media endpoints. The CDN caches content in a global multi-tier system to ensure that static files are delivered from the closest node to the end user or media endpoint, thus ensuring an improvement in the speed of media delivery and user interface experience.

Scalability, Resilience and Failure Recovery

In line with its move to Rackspace, signagelive created a custom performance monitoring application utilizing Cloud Servers and Cloud Load Balancer APIs, enabling it to scale up or down on demand when required. In times of peak (or unexpected) load, signagelive automatically increases the number of servers available to network customers, ensuring that the user experience remains a constant and is not degraded by any large spikes in traffic.

We learned through this process how critical it is to select the right partner to grow your business with. Its clear that signagelive isnt just a customer, were a part of the Rackspace family, said signagelives Cremins.

Weis Markets Cuts Cost of Recovery Auditing in Half

Chicago IL (PRWEB) February 28, 2012

In 2009, Weis Markets worked with Jack Martin of Audit Technology Group (ATG) to bring its recovery audit process in-house and accelerate reviews closer to the transaction. Today, Weis reports a highly effective program with improved vendor relationships, support from buying staff and the cost of recovery cut in half.

Weis CFO Scott Frost states, Adopting an in-house solution that allows us to audit quarterly has provided multiple benefits for Weis Markets. While we enjoy the cost savings of using our existing staff, there are other intangible benefits. We really like that our people are talking to our buyers instead of an outside firm explaining errors to them. Recovery audits always seemed to create tension between the buyers, the audit firm and the vendors. The near real-time audits have actually improved support from our buyers, as well as our vendor relationships.

Moving the audit closer to the transaction date allows us to address errors sooner. Our vendor partners can rectify inaccuracies in the same funding year, not one or two years later. It has definitely improved the category manager/vendor relationship. And we get our money sooner, said Frost.

Weis incorporated RecoverNOW and ATG-Advantage into its recovery audit process. RecoverNOW is ATGs flagship near real-time audit process powered by its advanced web application audit technology. ATG-Advantage is an in-house recovery audit solution that gives retail organizations more control of their recovery audits. Ease of use and maximizing the lowest cost of recovery permit companies to move audits closer to the transaction date instead of the traditional post-annual process.

Frost reports, Being an early adopter of ATG-Advantage has been a profitable move to both our vendor relationships and our bottom line. It replaces traditional recovery auditing. Given the benefits, I believe traditional post-annual recovery auditing will be non-existent in the next 10 years.

Near real-time recovery auditing was new for Weis Accounts Payable Staff Accountant Sheila Heiser. The ATG solution has been very helpful. I appreciate the ability to see AP inaccuracies almost as soon as they happen so we can address them promptly. I also use the tool to research data outside of cost recovery.

Paul Dinkins is the EVP and Chief Marketing Officer at ATG. Weis is one of the many Topco members that we serve. Weis was the first company of its size to accelerate recovery audits from annual to quarterly. It is impressive to me that as a regional grocer, Weis has demonstrated a more progressive approach than their national competitors, said Dinkins.

When asked what he would tell other grocers about RecoverNOW and ATG-Advantage Scott Frost said, I dont know why any company wouldnt do what we are doing. I really dont know why any retailer would want to continue with traditional recovery auditing.

About Weis Markets

Weis Markets operates 161 food stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia. For more information about Weis Markets, Inc., please visit http://www.weis.com or go to http://www.facebook.com/WeisSuperMarket.

About RecoverNow and near real-time audits

RecoverNow reduces the human resources required to perform an audit, so it is a cost-effective solution that both digs deeper and can do so more frequently. RecoverNow replaces the annual audit process with as frequently as monthly reviews.

Near real-time audits can increase recoveries by as much as 30 percent because errors are detected and presented as adjustments to individual invoices close to the transaction. Rather than old, larger aggregated claims, vendors are presented with timely individual invoice adjustments eliminating age-related rejection by vendors. Research supports that for each one billion dollars of retail sales, grocers may expect to recover between $ 750,000 and $ 1,000,000.

About ATG-Advantage

ATG-Advantage is Audit Technology Groups service option for use by clients internal staff. It provides ATG data preparation and hosting along with deployment of ATGs eRecover and eResolve web audit tools. ATG provides training and support to ensure the optimum performance of the client team. ATG is available, if needed, to augment a clients staff when additional resources are required.

Bringing the recovery audit process in-house achieves the lowest possible cost of recovery. ATG-Advantage offers virtually no risk for implementers because existing recovery audit service providers may remain in place as a safety net until their recovery results become negligible.

About Audit Technology Group LLC

Since 2004, the Audit Technology Group has provided recovery audit services to retailers and grocers across the United States. ATGs objective is to transform recovery auditing from a legacy post-annual process to a near real-time solution that improves the overall experience for all stakeholders. ATG is headquartered in Chicago IL. For more information, visit http://www.atgaudits.com or call (970) 672-4147.
