Kingwood Town Center Spring Car Show To Be Sponsored by Doctor Larrys Automotive Specialists and Feature Award Winning Fully Restored 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6

Kingwood, TX (PRWEB) March 25, 2005

Does the smell of gasoline and motor grease get your heart racing? If so, race on down to the 8th Annual Doctor Larrys Automotive Specialists Kingwood Spring Car Show, held Sunday, April 24th, 2005 from noon to 6 PM in Kingwoods beautiful Town Center Park. This years car show is sponsored by Doctor Larrys Automotive Specialists, A-Line Auto Parts, ACDelco, Cebridge Connections, Car Toys, Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch), Tejas Toyota and Scion, Sterling McCall Honda, BMW of Houston North, Deerbrook Forest Chrysler Jeep, Kingwoodnow.com and GameForce.

Local celebrity Sparky Nolan, President of the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce will be emceeing this year’s event. Mr. Nolan is known for his vibrant commentary, and has had a passion for classic cars since his youth.

Visitors to this years spring car show will not only enjoy the spectacle of hundreds of antique cars, hot rods, street rods, muscle cars, classics, monster trucks, motorcycles and custom rides as they converge on Town Center Park in Kingwood, Texas, but the organizers also have some special treats in store for the attendees.

This year we have been working extremely hard to take the show to a new level, said Suzanne Juel, whose company, Kingwood Event Coordinators, has been contracted to run both the spring and fall car shows.

Featured at this years show will be the award winning 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6, which recently won Best of Show in its class at the 2004 Houston Autorama. This remarkable vehicle, owned by local resident Gregg Perkin, has been fully restored to its original factory condition by this years Title Sponsor, Doctor Larrys Automotive Specialists located in Humble, Texas.

Perkin, who had dreamed of owning a 1970 Chevelle muscle car, worked several years with Larry, the owner of Doctor Larry’s Automotive Specialists, to find and eventually complete the 3-year off-frame restoration of the car.

This is a true, classical, full restoration, said Larry, of Doctor Larrys Automotive Specialists. We were excited to find the Chevelle in Oregon, with the original factory build sheet for the vehicle.

Doctor Larry has done a phenomenal job restoring this vehicle, stated Perkin, He not only coordinated resources from Houston and Chicago for the frame and body restoration, but personally completed the mechanical and electrical work on the car. The car was restored for a cost of approximately $ 75,000 and has now been appraised at over $ 150,000.

And if seeing this incredible muscle car is not enough, visitors can stop by the GameForce booth and actually drive it. GameForce, also an event sponsor and conveniently located in Kingwood Town Center, is featuring a Gran Turismo 4 tournament with the finals occurring on the day of the show.

Gran Turismo is a brand new PS/2 game from Sony and was recently featured on The Apprentice. GameForce is planning on having a full cockpit with steering wheel and pedal, and attendees can stop by their booth to either take their turn at the wheel or just enjoy watching as a spectator.

According to the review on http://www.ign.com, Gran Turismo 4 uses an all-new physics engine coupled with revolutionary technology to deliver enhanced game physics and graphics providing a near-realistic automotive racing simulation.

We definitely believe that this will be one of the highlights of the show. We will be displaying a sign at each car in the show that is available to be played at GameForce. This game has over 700 cars, more than 100 courses and plenty of unique surprises for automotive enthusiasts. Our best players will have the opportunity to show off their driving skills in our booth, and the tournament winner will be announced during the awards ceremony, said Ryan Austin. President of GameForce.

The GameForce Gran Turismo 4 tournament begins on April 17th, 2005 and ends at the car show. To participate, please contact GameForce at 281-361-3838 or online at http://www.gameforcecenters.com. Winners will receive prizes, including gifts from Gran Turismo tournament sponsors Intel and Nvidia.

For those attendees looking for a bit more speed, Platinum event sponsors A-Line Auto Parts and ACDelco will be bringing a 48-foot long dragster. Also, Platinum event sponsor Cebridge Connections has coordinated with the Discovery Channel to provide a Monster Garage display and X-Box game giveaways.

Other highlights of this years event will be vehicle displays by the Army, Air Force and Marines.

Applications are now being accepted for vehicles to display in the show and are available on the event website at http://www.kwtowncenterevents.com. Early registration is $ 25 per vehicle for non-commercial displays. Vehicles registered prior to April 1, 2005 will be eligible to be listed in the event program. Sutus Business Central Surges ahead with Green Office Technology

Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) September 11, 2008

The Sutus Business Central?, a multi-service business gateway (MSBG) that provides Small Businesses with a fully integrated data, networking and telephony solution today has released its findings related to the energy savings of it’s small business technology. In addition to its business operational features, the power consumption, design and advanced remote support of Business Central dramatically reduces a small business’ carbon footprint compared to a piecemeal solution that provides equivalent business functionality.

In the course of a year, the Business Central requires 350 kw/hrs power*. This is 1261 kw/hr lower than the power usage of the combined products used by most small businesses to match the functionality of the Business Central. The power difference is equivalent to .98 metric tonnes of CO2 tonnes per year. That’s the equivalent of parking the car for 60 days a year or replacing a twenty year old fridge with an ‘energy saver’ model

As well as having low power requirements, the Business Central enjoys a very streamlined design with dimensions of 9” by 11” by 4”. This is little bigger than a Microsoft Xbox and is considerably smaller than the combined dimensions of a competing piecemeal solution. In addition, advanced remote support and management features built into the Business Central mean that the device can be remotely monitored, upgraded and repaired without the need to send out a technician or for the small business staff member to spend long periods on the phone.

The Sutus Business Central ™ has been developed specifically for businesses of up to 25 employees and comprises a wide array of advanced data and networking functions such as: file server, email server, router, firewall, wireless access point, VPN remote access server, automated backups, and a business-class phone system with the ability to simultaneously support both standard phone line and VoIP connections.

The Business Central is also a gateway for hosted services and is ideal for businesses that promote remote working or those with employees in numerous locations.

Shawn Chute, EVP of Sutus, commented, ‘People are rapidly becoming more conscious of their effect on the environment and this is starting to show in some of their business decisions. Small business owners in particular have the advantage of being able to change the way their company operates in many ways according to their preferences. The Sutus Business Central enables them to improve business functionality while helping the environment by utilizing our “all-in-one” energy efficient complete office solution..’

*Assumes constant power 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Consumers Purchase Warranties for More Than 2 Million PlayStation2, X Box and Movie DVD this Holiday Season…No More Damaged or Skipping DVDs or CDs.

(PRWEB) January 8, 2003

Herndon, VA (January 7, 2003) – Disc Warranty, Inc. announced that consumers have purchased warranties protecting more than 2 million DVDs this holiday season and are expecting millions more to sign up in 2003. Disc Warranty is the only company in the U.S. that offers warranties on DVDs and CDs. This industry is projected to be more than $ 5 billion dollars by 2005. For less than the cost of a single game DVD or music CD a consumer can protect 15 DVDs or CDs. The program can pay for itself after just one repair.

Disc Warranty is so popular because of the cost of game DVDs and the number of discs that become unplayable every year. There are more than 48 million game consoles and 45 million DVD players in the U.S. Approximately 4.5 billion DVDs and CDs were distributed in North America in 2002 not including recordable media. A typical game DVD for PS2 or Xbox can cost as much as $ 50 each and millions of game consoles were sold this holiday season.

DVDs are more susceptible to damage than CDs. DVDs and CDs under normal use will start to skip or not play at all because of scratches, finger prints, and other buildup. Once this happens consumers will often try to clean the disc using an off the shelf solution which often does not work very well and sometimes causes more damage to the disc. The Disc Warranty program allows consumers who have damaged disc to have them repaired at no cost and if the disc cannot be repaired then it will be replaced at no charge. If a disc that needs to be replaced is out of print then the consumer will receive a check for the original cost of the disc.

Millions of consumers have DVDs or CDs that either skip or fail to play. Studies and statistics show that more than 250 million discs (not including recordable media such as CD-R or DVD-R) have been damaged in 2002 with more than half of them being thrown away by consumers at an average cost of approximately $ 28 each when you factor in game discs according to Michael Thompson President/CEO and former VP of Verizon Avenue Video Services. There is a great demand for this type of service because of the popularity of DVDs and CDs and this demand will continue to grow for years to come.

Disc Warranty has secured agreements with a nationwide video rental chain, an online DVD rental company, and an online game rental company. The names of these companies will be announced very shortly. Businesses benefit from the disc warranty program because it allows them to have discs repaired or replaced that are normally thrown away. In addition any disc protected under the disc warranty program is completely transferable.
