Mobile Broadband Company Becomes WAAV, Allowing Users to Surf the Web at 70MPH
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) October 18, 2006
Omniwav Mobile, Inc. has announced a change in corporate identity as it continues to focus on mobile broadband solutions. WAAV (pronounced ?wave?), the new identity, was originally a subdivision of the company focused on consumer products. WAAV released the CM3 Wi-Fi cellular router this summer priced at $ 399 initially targeting the mobile consumer market. Due to its popularity with enterprise customers, WAAV has now turned the initial consumer product into an expandable mobile broadband platform with capabilities for the entire spectrum of vehicles. The CM3 cellular router has an installed base in personal vehicles, enterprise and government fleets, as well as municipal buses. This platform enables WAAV to have the best-priced consumer solution for mobile broadband while supporting enterprise expandability.
The CM3 cellular router has added enormous value to the WAAV brand. WAAV made a splash this summer when it announced the CM3 cellular router for $ 399 with a 2-year activation on the Sprint network. The router provides a mobile broadband Internet connection turning any vehicle into its own Wi-Fi hotspot. Multiple users can connect simultaneously and surf the Internet while cruising the freeway. Unlike most other cellular routers on the market, the CM3 was designed specifically for the mobile environment. The ruggedized unit is fully self-contained and has external antenna connectors that are preferred for vehicular use. Additionally, WAAV?s cellular router has features generally limited to enterprise products: the optional GPS receiver allows remote tracking of an entire fleet while providing drivers secure broadband communication with the head office.
The company?s head office has been relocated to Cambridge, Massachusetts, close to the world?s leading academic and research institutions. Ongoing research includes features and enhancements to mobile broadband for consumers, enterprises, fleets, governments, and mass transit.
Consumers are purchasing the CM3 to have an Internet connection while on the road. As a productivity tool for executives, it enables individuals to stay in touch with the office while away. The WAAV CM3 cellular router allows car transit time to be used for personal pleasure as well. For families, children can enjoy the benefits of chatting on IM while on the road, playing Xbox 360 Live, or watching television from their SlingBoxTM while on the road. Packages for boats are also available.
Enterprises are installing broadband connections in their vehicles to increase the productivity of their mobile workforce and provide seamless connectivity for professionals who spend time on the road or outside the office. Carpooling commuters can get a head start on their workday. The built-in Wi-Fi hotspot provides repair personnel and service professionals secure access to their office-based intranet even while at a customer’s location or on a telephone pole. An optional GPS receiver allows fleet managers to track their vehicles in real time thereby saving time and money for service calls, deliveries, and inventory routing. Enterprise management functions for large corporations are available.
Government agencies are equally excited about the WAAV CM3. As governments are pressured to become increasingly more efficient, the WAAV CM3 answers the call by replacing slow narrowband connections with broadband Internet access to mobile public service vehicles such as police cruisers, government officials, utility trucks, municipal buses, emergency command centers, fire trucks, ambulances, and military vehicles. Government employees can be connected while on the road, access databases faster, and use downtime in your vehicle more efficiently. In addition, a central office coordinator can manage a fleet of vehicles in real-time.
The WAAV CM3 is $ 399.00 on Sprint?s broadband network. For a limited time, an unlimited data plan is only $ 59.99 per month. Internet speeds average 400-800 Kbps with bursts over 2 Mbps. High speed service is currently available in more than 200 metro areas currently covering more than 150 million users in America and will be available nationwide soon.

World Racing Team has a Successful Outing at NOPI XBOX Cup in Phoenix
Chandler, AZ (PRWEB) March 25, 2006
Christian Rado and his World Racing Scion tC Pro FWD racing team turned in a runner up finish at the recent NOPI Arizona XBOX Cup racing series nationals at Firebird Raceway near Phoenix, Arizona. After struggling for the past 2 seasons with a unique combination in Pro FWD which features rear wheel drive based drivetrian components, Rado 30 of Hollywood, California and his team were finally able to locate and extract some of the potential of this unique race car.
Qualifying began Saturday with the World Racing team making a conservative run for the first session with an 8.81 at 167 mph.
?Our goal was simply to go from A to B on the first run because we don?t have a lot of data to work with on this combination,? explained Shane Tecklenburg, 31 of Aliso Viejo, California, the crew chief for the team. ?But I think we were too cautious. We will have to step up our game if we want to be around on Sunday afternoon,? said Tecklenburg.
The second qualifying session produced a much better ET but still not the sort of speed the team was shooting for with an 8.43 at just 152 miles per hour. Even though the run was a personal best in this car for Rado, he would have been happier with a slightly better performance.
?I am happy we ran the .43 but the car lost power as I shifted into 5th gear. The motor was still revving but the car was slowing down. After we got the car back to the pits and looked at the data, we found our problem.?
During the run, as the last gear change was made the intake pipe burst off of the throttle body which meant no more boost. The engine ran the last quarter of the track as if it were an all motor car. But the determined team rose to the occasion and repaired the broken pipe in time for the third qualifying round.
After waiting in line for the final shot at the Firebird Raceway quarter mile, the World Racing team which is sponsored by Scion, ACT Clutches, Bosch Electronics, and REV Valves were poised to throw all they had at the car and try to procure the number one qualifying position. A freak occurrence with the staging beams in competitor Jason Hunt?s lane through the timing system a curveball and, as fate would have it, both drivers left before the tree was activated. Rado chased Hunt down and the two were virtually side by side at halftrack, but as the finish line approached the power of the Scion tC overcame that of Hunt and passed him just before the lights. Unfortunately for both teams, the timing system did not record a time for either so both would have to be content with their qualifying times from the previous sessions. That placed the World Racing Scion in the number 2 position behind Ali Afshar by a mere .001 second 8.437 to Afshar?s 8.436.
?We finally make a good clean run and now we have no time. Oh well at least Shane and Gary and the guys will have data to work with for tomorrow. I am so proud of my team because we have made significant progress even though it may not seem like it on the outside. We are excited about tomorrow and the rest of the season,? stated Rado.
Because the number 1 qualifier receives a bye into the final round, the stage was set for a Rado vs. Hunt rematch in the first elimination round of Pro FWD.
After the burnouts were complete, Rado was quick to back up and pull into the pre stage beam. As Hunt staged his car, Rado?s car began to thunder on the hyper-boost program. Once Rado was staged the tree came down he jumped to a
PC Club Liquid Cooling Display Shows Video Gamers How to Beat Summer Heat
City of Industry, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2007
The first day of summer has come and gone, which means dedicated video gamers will be looking for effective ways to keep their systems from overheating. With that in mind, the PC Club store location in Riverside, CA (http://pcclub.com) has set up a display for inventive gamers: a water-cooled gaming system built using a Gigabyte 3D Galaxy II liquid cooling kit.
Overheating video game systems have been in the news intermittently over the past year. Concerns have been raised particularly about the Xbox 360, which was alleged to have caused a number of fires. Some system manufacturers offer additional cooling accessories, such as the Nintendo Wii Fan Stand.
Though many summer gamers resort to simple cooling solutions such as electronic floor fans, the liquid cooling kit on display at PC Club — Riverside offers a quieter, more concentrated and much more powerful approach.
The system relies on a PCI rear fan controller and large aluminum radiator with a four-part water-path design, as well as a quiet, ceramic bearing pump. A clear blue LED tank provides coolant refilling and bathes the system with a cool futuristic glow.
The water-cooled gaming system was built by Matthew, a PC Club – Riverside technician. When the system was tested, CPU temperatures held stable at about 25
