Multi-purpose travel vest

multi purpose travel vest - gadgets

Practically a wearable bag, the Travel Vest has 22 pockets and compartments, some of them big enough to hold an iPad. It also has hidden conduits to connect wires to the devices in the pockets.

Wipe Shirt Has a Built in Microfiber Wiping Cloth

wipe shirt Wipe Shirt Has a Built in Microfiber Wiping Cloth
As anyone who’s ever tried to wipe down a cell phone, ipod, pair of glasses, or personal video gaming system knows- using your shirt to clean the screen is never as effective as a microfiber cleaning cloth. You can breathe heavily and then wipe down your screen all your want, it’s still not as good as microfiber. But what if you had a simple white dress shirt with a built in microfiber cloth? You can with Fift’s Wipe Shirt, a tailored shirt that comes with an integrated microfiber cloth patch in either the shirttail or on the cuff (your choice).

Now wiping off your glasses or gadget is simple and effective, and there’s no need to carry around a spare microfiber cleaning cloth in your back pocket (who does that?). The caveat is that it costs $159 for this shirt which may or may not be a lot, depending on your clothing budget. If it’s too much, you could probably just sew a microfiber cloth into your existing shirt for little to no extra cost.

DIY Soft iPhone and iPad Stylus

soft_stylus.jpg

Maker Adam Kumpf from the design firm Teague in Seattle demonstrates a DIY soft conductive stylus for use with an iPhone, iPad, or any other device with a capacitive touch screen.

We’ve been experimenting with conductive foams and fabrics in search of a middle ground. Fortunately, it’s quite easy to make a soft, conductive writing tool using some pretty basic materials. All you need is a pencil, an anti-static sock (such as this one, with X-Static in the foot area which contains conductive silver thread), and some patience to cut and sew it all together.

Deskphone Dock

deskphoneNow the Deskphone Dock is definitely a silly device to have – after all, who in their right mind would want to spend all that money (or get tied down to a long contract) for an iPhone, only to have it function as a regular house phone? That’s what the Deskphone Dock does exactly – it allows you to make and receive calls in a similar manner to that of a traditional wired phone, but has the added advantage of charging and synchronizing your iPhone while doubling as a speakerphone in the process. Features include a couple of integrated stereo speakers, a microphone, volume control, instant mute and USB & AC power dual sources. No idea on pricing and availability, but this is one iPhone accessory that ought to come with a big FAIL.
