Have you seen a 80 ports usb hub before?

Thanko just introduced an 80-port USB hub to charge all of your gadgets from a single location. The bad thing is this device only allow charging, you cannot use it to transfer file or perform synchronization.

So this 80 ports usb hub is it suppose to help you solve your problem (lack of usb ports) or to introduce you with another problem. (Messy cable). The board is sized at 200×200×19mm and obviously needs to be plugged into a wall socket to work (100V). The picture below shows it with just 40 of the 80 ports used and it is already so messy.

Tengu – lip-syncing USB desktop toy

This USB-powered desktop companion sits by your computer making different faces according to its mood. But here’s the good bit: Tengu lip-syncs to the music it hears so it looks like its singing along. It has a total of over 14 different facial expressions. Bright LEDs in Tengu’s sleek rectangular face respond to any sound, so as well as gurning away to the music you play, this hip little square also moves its lips as you merrily type away.

Flash Drive Reminder

USB Flash drive reminder

USB Flash drive reminder

Still remember my previous post which was few week ago. I wrote of how you can write a small script to remind you to unplug your usb thumb drive when you shut down or log off your pc (Never forget your USB flash drive). I understand that there is quite a few steps you need to follow and is a little complicated but do not worry i found a piece of software to help you. It is call Flash Drive Reminder. Follow the link to download and it is a freeware. This is a tiny application that you put it into your thumb drive and it require very little space only. It work when you go to log off or shut down your session, the reminder pops up, reminding you to plug out your drive. That it, very easy as compare to my previous post which you need to write a small script.

Never forget your USB flash drive again

Always forgetting your thumb drive after you shut down or log off your PC. Only remember it when you have reach sch or office. Use this simple script to create a reminder and you will never leave behind your usb drive at home.

Step 1. Open a Notepad and type this {WScript.Echo “Don’t forget your thumb drive!”}. When you type it in ignore the curly bracket.

Step 2. Copy the file to your log off folder. Here is where you can find your log off folder. C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy\User\Scripts\Logoff      Remember you need to go to folder option to enable shown hidden file if not you will not be able to see your group policy folder. Go to Tools >> Folder Options >> View >> then select the Show hidden files and folders.

Step 3.  This is the final step. From the Run box (Start -> Run), type gpedit.msc and hit Enter. In User Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Logoff, double click the log off file, press the Add Script button and select the thumb-drive-reminder.vbs file.
