DIY your own USB cooling Fan

I found this DIY interesting not because it is simple to do but also we can recycle parts found in old or spoiled CD drive. As you know this few year the world have been promoting going green. So this DIY is good as it recycled the motor found in the drive. The items need in this DIY are a broken CD or DVD drive, an empty cd/dvd package, an usb cable, a cork, iron wire and an antenna cable sheath. I have included 2 video in my this post, the different is that the second video use a blank CD or DVD to make the fan blades and a paper roll to make the fan stand.

USB fans are useful in many ways for example you are in outdoor using your laptop under a hot sun, the usb fan maybe your only cooling device to cool you down. Or today is your unlucky day that both your room fan and air con are spoiled. This is when usb come into help. Hope you enjoy the videos.

Finger drive

Finger drive

Finger drive

We have use before thumbdrive but i am sure we all have never use finger drive before. A computer programmer who lost a finger in a motorbike crash has replaced it with a USB drive. Jerry Jalava built a prosthetic finger, left, which contains a 2GB memory stick for storing photos, films and other files. Mr Jalava peels back the prosthetic from its “nail” to show the flash drive. He said: “It is not attached permanently to my body so when I’m using the USB I just leave my finger inside the slot and pick it up when I’ve finished.” The idea came to him when surgeons joked about a “finger drive” after his accident. Jalava is also planning for a second generation of finger drive this time round he wish to increase the storage capacity and to include RFID tag in it.
